The settlement of Agia Marina is located on the eastern side of Aegina Island and is a cosmopolitan seaside resort, famous for its beautiful characteristics. It is surrounded by a rich pine forest and has sandy beaches with shallow waters as well as deeper waters that can be accessed from rock formations.
The main attraction of Agia Marina is the ancient site of Aphaia Athena, located on a hill and among the trees. The Temple of Aphaia Athena in Agia Marina, Aegina is considered one of the best preserved temples in Greece, with 25 of the original 32 columns still standing. The Archaeological Museum exhibits invaluable relics from the digs that have taken place in the ancient site of Aphaia Athena. Agia Marina also possesses a variety of nightlife venues such as restaurants, tavernas, cafés, clubs and bars, making it popular with those who seek exciting night time entertainment.
